I’m a lecturer and principal investigator at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. Our lab focuses on diseases of the macular; primarily those that affect the retinal pigment epithelium, a single layer of support cells at the back of the eye.
We are interested in investigating a number of diseases that affect the central macular region including age-related macular degeneration, and inherited diseases, such as Bestrophinopathies and Late-onset retinal degeneration.
We use induced pluripotent stem cells, created from patients, to help us understand and develop new treatments for these diseases.
